The Beauty of the Lord

This has been my prayer to start this week, I hope it is encouraging to you.

Lord, show me your beauty.

Reveal Yourself to me.

Show me Your love through the birds and the bumbling bees,

Through the wind as it flies, rustling through the trees.

Give me Your eyes to see and Your ears to hear.

Show me Your beauty and love.

Make me gentle, sweet like a dove.

Give me Your wisdom and Your knowledge from above.

Your beauty is so beyond me.

Your kindness is greater than my hurt.

Pour living water on my desert soul.

Calm this sinner’s heart,

Clean it and make it whole.

I long to know Your heart,

To feel Your warm embrace.

For me it is the start

Of Your everlasting grace.

Give me eyes to see Your beauty.

Don’t let me leave Your love.

Hold me close within Your loving arms,

Don’t ever let me go.

There is nothing I love more than Your presence.

There is nothing more beautiful than You.

I long to sit and eat at Your table,

Even more to be crucified with You.

Your pain was my gate to joy,

Your resurrection my path to life.

You counted it joy to pass through suffering,

So I could join You in newness of life.

Remind me of Your beauty.

Recount to me Your works of love.

Reveal Yourself to me.

Give me new life from Your Son.
